The NFL returns to London this year with three games, two at Wembley and one at Twickenham. The first game is at Wembley between the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars on 2nd October, then on the 23rd New York Giants take on Los Angeles Rams at Twickenham Stadium and then on 30th October the Washington Redskins take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
This year is the first time Twickenham, the home of English rugby, is hosting an NFL game and with the New York Giants playing it will prove a hugely popular affair.
This year will be the fourth year in succession the Jaguars have played and this year there are three teams who have now played at Wembley.
The first game played in England was in 2007 when the New York Giants hosted the Miami Dolphins and since then games have been played every year since with three games taking place last year. The NFL has also recently signed a ten year agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to play two games a year there from 2018 when Tottenham would have completed their new stadium.
Since the first game in 2007 participation in American football in the UK has risen by approximately 20% and tickets and hospitality packages to these games at Wembley have proved more popular year on year.
