Barcelona produced one of the best come backs of all time this week when they came back from 4-0 down in their first leg in Paris against Paris St Germain to win their home leg 6-1 to ensure they progressed to the Champions League Quarter Finals where they will join the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the last 8.
On the night they had to win by five clear goals to ensure qualification and after scoring an early goal, they then scored just before and after half time which left they with one more goal to draw level. However Paris St Germain scored a crucial away goal which left Barcelona with a seemingly impossible task of scoring three goals to qualify.
With people slowly leaving the Nou Camp stadium having thought there was little chance of this happening Neymar scored a great free kick in the 88th minute and Barcelona then scored a penalty and the winning goal in injury time ensuring one of the best comebacks of all time. The scenes at the final whistle were one of sheer joy amongst the Barcelona players and one of despair amongst the Paris St Germain players.
So where does this fantastic come back feature amongst the best football come backs of all time?
Liverpool v AC Milan
In the Champions League Final in 2005 the Anfield club were trailing 3-0 against AC Milan and came back and won 4-3 after extra time in what is probably the best Champions League Final of all time.
Bayern Munich v Manchester United
Another Champions League comeback, this time in 1999 when United beat Bayern Munich 2-1 with two goals scored in injury time by Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
All three of the above games featured great comebacks but we feel Barcelona’s exploits this week topped the pile.
